RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON

APR 22, 2018

BY: ANDY ELLIOT - PRODUCTION ARTIST

My challenge to myself this year is to run the London Marathon to raise money for Children with Cancer UK.

If you would like to help and want to donate go to my justgiving page and follow the simple instructions, or donate in cash to myself and I’ll submit the donation on your behalf.

Please feel free to forward the ‘justgiving’ link to anyone you know who might be interested in supporting this charity.

Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. The total raised at the moment is £691 plus the gift aid, so could be about £800.

It was a very warm day, but this meant there was massive support all the way round, a great atmosphere.

My finish time was 3h 13m 45s which I am pleased with given the heat. I will wait a few more days to submit all the money in case anyone else would like to donate.

Many thanks,

Andy

Snow again! Luckily i managed to do my longest training run on Saturday, 23miles from Disley to Macclesfield mainly on the Middlewood way, achy but ok. The miles can start to reduce now as it gets closer to the Marathon. I might even manage to complete the miles my plan says I should be doing?

Thanks for your support,

Poynton 10k went well, finished 1st in the 50 to 55 year old  class and 34th overall. Ran another 8 miles steady afterwards due to not doing a long run this weekend. Came across a couple taking their Shetland pony and dog for a walk down the middlewood way.

4 weeks to London. Wilmslow half marathon cancelled due to bad weather, did 21 miles in snow instead. Poynton 10k this weekend, have a few knee and ham string tweaks so have to see how it goes.

Trail Half Marathon last weekend, blizzard conditions and very wet and muddy along the canal tow path. Finished 24th overall and 4th for my age group.

First 20 mile run this weekend on Middlewood way and 10 miles off road in the hills on Sunday, bit achy, 49 miles this week.

Doing Wrexham Half marathon next weekend all being well.

Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. That’s ten every day. Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. We fund life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood cancer and we work to protect young lives through essential welfare programmes.
